     Little Miss Arleigh is a Princess-in-training. She’s a gorgeous silver buff girl, and at just about 2 years old she’s still on the outskirts of puppyhood. Her youth makes her fun and frisky – she loves to run and play -- and she loves hugs and tickles and bellyrubs from her people, whom she often thanks with sweet Cocker kisses. Arleigh likes to cuddle on the sofa or in her people’s laps, and she also likes the great outdoors and does well on a leash with just a little bit of pulling.

     Sadly, Arleigh’s puppyhood doesn’t appear to have included much TLC. She cowers when her people approach her as if she’s waiting to be hit.   She’s learning the art of pottying outside.  

     After time with regular meals given with love,  she appears to have learned to enjoy food without feeling she has to defend her food bowl from people and other dogs.  

     We are also working on clearing up her skin from past neglect and she has some areas that her fur needs to be coaxed back to growing thick and full. But have no doubt…it WILL happen and she will be beautifully hairy again!

     Despite what seems like a scary background, Arleigh is full of love and is eager to show it. She just needs a patient family to help her finesse her social skills, and then she will be the full-fledged Princess we know she will be. Because of her background Arleigh will be better off in a home without small children who may not understand the need for patience and gentleness; she will probably do better in a home with no other dogs or where she can be the Alpha dog.  Another caveat: absolutely no cats.  Arleigh thinks cats are for chasing.
