Hi! My name is Harley but Cocker Rescue calls me Santa cuz they rescued me at Christmas time. I go by Harley though since that was my real name from the people who dumped me at the shelter.  I am SOOOO glad cocker rescue came and got me from there. They were nice to me but I was scared and got sick. If Rescue had not gotten me I would have died because they didn't know for several days that I was deathly ill.  I had to go to the vet and I ended up staying there for several days with pancreatitis and kennel cough.

After I recovered from both those things I had to go back to the vet to get neutered and have my dewclaws removed.  Most dogs my age don’t need to have dewclaws removed, but when my foster mom got me mine were so long they had curled around and were digging back into my paw pads…but I didn't complain.  Getting the claws removed was quite painful but I am recovering well and am now ready to go to my new home.

I am a lucky guy in that I am heartworm negative; I am micro-chipped and am current on all shots including my bordatella. It is a simple and inexpensive shot to keep your doggie from contracting kennel cough when they are around other strange dogs being boarded or at the groomers.  I am a large tan/white parti-color boy, but my foster mom says I am not fat.  I gained all the weight back and more that I lost when I was sick.  I now weigh around 32 lbs.  I love watching TV, especially football games!

I like to be inside but I like the small doggie house when I am outside with my foster brothers & sisters.  I go in it when the others lay out in the yard.  I also don't have to be crated but I LOVE stuffed animals.  My human foster sister gets mad at me for trying to carry all her dolls and stuffed animals around.  I can't tell the difference between her toys and mine.  I love kids and other dogs.  I also like the cat here.  I pretty much ignore him because he is a bratty baby.  He likes to repel off my back and thinks it's fun.  I just ignore him.

One very important thing you should know about me is I can't have any fatty food like bacon or fatty treats.  I can only have a low-fat diet and certain chew's because if I don't I could get the pancreatitis again.  I would love to be a part of your family. Please check me out.

Harley is one of the easiest fosters we've had. He gets along with any animal or person and we have a lot!  Our daughter is 3 years old and he loves her attention.  He has never shown any aggression whatsoever and has been a real trooper during his healing process.  We are working on not spraying in the house; however that can be remedied and will get better now that he is neutered.  It is really improving.  Harley/Santa has a lot of love to give and deserves a happy home!
