Unlike the mythical human-sized bunny, this 2 year old Harvey is visible ALL the time and what a beauty he is! Even unkempt and a bit matted this just-rescued boy is one of the most striking Cocker Spaniels many of us have seen in a long time. We aren’t sure what color to call him. He isn’t black…he doesn’t fit the ideal of a roan…he is mostly black with some highlights of lightly creamed coffee and streaks of silver! We are excited to see him after a good bath and grooming!

Harvey is a bit nervous after the shelter and he will need to be allowed to just settle into a safe place and find his self-confidence. He didn’t bark during transport, but he did whine a bit because he wasn’t sure what was going on. He didn’t understand how to get in or out of the car, so he obviously hasn’t gone bye-bye much. He and the other dog rescued traveled uncrated in the backseat just fine. They didn’t know each other and they got along fine.

When we got to the vet their office cat was wandering around in the lobby and Harvey could have cared less. Now, he may be different when he is in a familiar place, but I feel fairly safe in saying he wouldn’t be dangerous around cats. As of this writing (3/19/08) Harvey is at the vet awaiting his neutering and vaccinations. He will be ready to go soon and will need a foster home as well as a forever home. If you would like to foster with or without intent to adopt get your application in soon…this beautifully unusual boy won’t last long!
