The pictures on the left are pitiful Kelroy when he came to us.  Those above and below are recent, since he has been in treatment.  All his crust, dirt, and dead skin have been debrided and clean, smooth, healthy skin is exposed to grow new fur.  You can see what a pretty boy he is.  The mange mites are dead.

He is eating.  Miracles happen.  Our Pam has the hands though which they often come.

And, thank you sPAWnsors. Your financial
assistance make these miracles possible.

This precious bundle of  .  .  .  skin?! .  .  .  is Kelroy. Yep  .  .  .  he looks pretty bad, doesn’t he? The thing is that mange LOOKS so much worse than it is in the big picture. Something like heartworm is even more deadly, but a dog can look perfectly healthy while dying. Guys like Kelroy here haven’t got a chance because of his outside, not his inside. Our resident mange miracle worker, Pam, is going to foster this boy and you watch…in a month this dog will be absolutely gorgeous! We will be calling him a bundle of FUR in no time. The hard part for rescue is that the special shampoos and vitamin supplements Kelroy needs to get well are expensive. Any specific donations toward Kelroy’s return to beauty will be GREATLY appreciated and we would love to list you as a sPAWnsor on Kelroy’s bio page! If you have questions about adopting this boy when he is ready to go get your application in right away!

In addition to the mange, Kelroy is heart worm positive and will require treatment for this disease.  Specific donations toward his treatment for heart worms would also be hugely appreciated.

Heart Worm is a disease so easily preventable by the regular administration of a simple preventative medication. The treatment for an active case of heart worms is performed by a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and involves the administration to the infected animal of a systemic poison to kill the adult worms and larvae. It is difficult for the animal, who must be kept quiet and unstimulated during the cycle of administration or risk death from either the drugs used in treatment or the clumping of the dead worms in their cardio-vascular system. Please keep your pets on heart worm preventative. For further information:

Animals who come to DFWCocker Rescue who are heart worm positive will be treated before they are placed for adoption.
