Hi…I’m Scamp! I hear folks say if the shoe fits wear it and that name fits me! I need a new furever home…can I be yours?! I am about 9 months old and the people who had me before dumped me at the shelter giving the reason that it was because I “eat poo”….~sighs~… They just didn’t understand that lots of puppies do that and almost all of them grow out of it, especially if they get good quality puppy food with all the vitamins and nutrients a growing puppy needs!

The nice people at Cocker Spaniel Rescue think it was really because I had two cherry eyes and those other people didn’t want to get them fixed for me. Foster mom says I rode pretty well in the car on the way home for being such a young guy. I try very hard to be and AM a super good boy when she puts those drops in my eyes & ears. I have to have them in my eyes a couple of times a day until my eyes are all healed from that surgery. I know how to sit and am gentle when I take treats from your fingers….and I LOVE treats! I am working SUPER hard on learning to only go potty outside & foster mom says I should tell you that I squat to pee….not sure why that is important but she says it means I will never “lift my leg”, whatever that means!

Hey…guess what else??? I have my natural tail and I LOVE to wag it to show how happy I am in my new foster home. I think fetch is about the best game ever invented, too! I don’t care if you throw like a boy or a girl…as long as you throw. Sometimes I forget to bring it back, but I’m working on that too! I kind of get overly possessive of my toys, maybe because I am not used to having any, so foster mom thinks a home with no kids under 7 or so would be best for me. I have never been around a cat…but something tells the folks here that I would be best off without one of those around, either.

Sometimes I play too rough with the other dog in my foster home and am learning to be gentler. I would MUCH prefer to be an only dog if possible. I will share if I absolutely have to, but I don’t care for it. I can be kind of grumpy about it, in fact. Heaven is having all the toys, all the treats and ALL my owners attention to myself!!! I

’m not thrilled about taking a bath…but once that part is over I don’t mind the rest of the grooming stuff. If you become my new mom or dad will you tell my groomer person to be patient with me when it is bath time so I can learn to not be afraid of the water? I lay at foster mom’s feet under the table when they have dinner but I don’t beg. I just want to be close to my human so much. She thinks it is because I never got any attention where I was before and am making up for lost time. If you can help me be secure and confident I can learn to not be so needy, I promise!
